The famous hiking route around Kathmandu valley, Nagarkot to Changu Narayan day hiking is nature with culture walking trail. The trip starts from one of the fascinating hill point in Nepal “Nagarkot”. This is the popular sunrise view point for not only foreign tourist but also local visitors. The ending point of this hiking trip is one of UNESCO world heritage site in Kathmandu valley “Changu Narayan Temple”. The pagoda style ancient temple surrounded by forest with champak tree and small village is famous among the Hindu Devotees. It is located about 12 KM east of Kathmandu in Bhaktapur district.
The trip can starts from Kathmandu, our guide will receive you from the hotel early in the morning (4:30AM). Nagarkot is famous for sunrise view (this package cover breakfast in Nagarkot) so it will be better if you reach there as earlier as possible. If you don’t want the sunrise view you can start the trip from 8:00 AM. It will take 45 minutes to reach Nagarkot from Kathmandu as it is 30 KM away from city (Thamel). On fine weather day you can see sunrays hits on the Himalayas including Mt. Everest & Langtang range. After the sunrise view from view Tower, we will back to restaurant for breakfast. After breakfast we will jaunt around for few hours and the hiking journey will starts at 8:30am.
We will walk for downhill to Telkot (Bhaktapur) within one hour. Along the trail we will pass some traditional agriculture fields of mustard and wheat on terrace (Seasonal). Then we continue hike down to Changu Narayan temple; which takes couple of hours leisure walk. Around 11:30am we will reach Changu Narayan temple. It will be unique experience to jaunting in the temple which is built on 5th century. After the sightseeing we will take lunch there and at 2:00pm we will drive back to Kathmandu.
