Next, go on the stone-paved road leading out of town, which will take you down the Langtang Khola. After a short stretch of walking, you will pass a suspension bridge before gradually ascending to Bamboo.
There are several guest houses nearby the river in this beautiful canyon-like setting. A subtropical forest with oak, maple, fir, rhododendron, blue pine, and tall spruce is traversed on the route from this point on. A variety of animals, such as langurs, red pandas, yellow-throated martens, and Himalayan black bears, will also be visible to you. Continue your moderate ascents uphill until you arrive at the Lama Hotel. In this small town by the river, there are a number of excellent hotels. Hikers frequently stop here to relax as it is surrounded by greenery.
Today’s journey from Lama Hotel to Langtang village will be wonderful. You will wake up early in the morning, get ready for your walk, eat breakfast, and then start the Langtang with Gosaikunda Lake Trek with a moderate ascent that gets steeper as you climb. As you continue to wander alongside the Langtang Khola, you will pass through woods made up of oak, maple, colorful rhododendrons, and hemlock. As you continue your trip, the snow-covered mountains, notably Mt. Langtang, will become increasingly evident.
By continuing on the route, you will pass Ghodatabela Meadow and reach a wooden bridge. The journey to the Tamang hamlet will next take you past yak fields, across a helipad, and upward through rhododendron trees. The residences in this charming village have flat roofs in the Tibetan style and nicely carved wooden windows. The town’s stone walls completely encompass the fields where turnips, potatoes, barley, etc. are grown.
Following your morning meal in Langtang village, you will continue your Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Trek excursion. From the Langtang hamlet to Kyanjin Gompa, the journey will take you a few hours. The route will first revolve around the Mani Walls before climbing a peak that is topped by a large chorten. After a slight climb, you will reach Mundu, where you will see wonderful prayer flags and cross a stream. From here, you will proceed across a series of moraines and cross numerous minor streams using wooden bridges.
As you proceed ahead, you will see Kyanjin Gompa, and the magnificent glaciers flowing from Kimshug and Langtang Lirung peaks. You will eventually get to Kyanjin Gompa if you continue on the paths. While visiting Kyanjin Gompa, you are welcome to see the gorgeous and well-known monastery. While exploring the hamlet, you may also get a panoramic view of the mountains such as Dorje Lhakpa, Langshisha Ri, Ganja La, Tsergo Ri, and others.
The sixth day of the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek Itinerary can be used to explore the magnificent panoramas located all around Kyanjin Gompa. Before beginning a hike, you might make the trip to the well-known Kyanjin Gompa to participate in Morning Prayer. After breakfast, you can go to the Langtang Valley with Gosaikunda Lake Trek’s highest point, Tserko RI (4984 m). The short yet exciting climb to this place offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains. From here, you can see Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji, and the entire Langtang range, among other mountain summits.
As a gentle alternative for Tsergo RI, take into consideration trekking to Kyanjin RI. Since Kyanjin RI is closer and has a shorter rise than Tsergo RI, it’s still a difficult climb. Kyanjin RI is situated at around 4773 meters. Whichever route you choose, you will be treated to a panoramic view of snow-covered mountains, open valleys, and frozen lakes. In comparison to the view from Tsergo RI, the view from Kyanjin RI is equally stunning. This evening, you will spend another night returning to your guesthouse in Kyanjin Gompa.
After a memorable stay at Kyanjin Gompa, it’s time to say farewell to the lovely Buddhist community. Today’s Langtang Valley with Gosaikunda Trek is going to be a rather long trek compared to past times. Before setting off on today’s adventure, you’ll have breakfast while admiring the views of the snow-capped peaks. The return trek will follow the same route along the Langtang River.
You must go through well-known yak herding villages and vast alpine fields in order to reach Langtang village. Then proceed on and make a right turn toward Ghodatabela. After that, you rapidly descend to the Lama Hotel. You will check in at the Lama Hotel’s renowned teahouse. After that, take some time to unwind and enjoy the view of pines and rhododendrons swaying in the mountain wind.
After enjoying a sumptuous breakfast, pack your luggage, and resume the trail to begin the Langtang with Gosaikunda Lake Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru. Following a small waterfall crossing, you will descend to the banks of the Langtang River. Along the way, you will pass through birch, oak, pine, bamboo, and rhododendron forests that are home to wild animals like wild boars and monkeys. Ganesh Himal will be visible from the path with stunning vistas.
The target for today, Thulo Syabru, is reached after a few more hours of trekking and crossing a suspension bridge. In the Langtang region, Thulo Syabru is a stunning and important Tamang hamlet. It will take only a few hours to tour the lovely town because it is small and has a relatively small population.
The Langtang enfolding Gosaikunda Lake Trek will begin today from Thulo Syabru and go towards Shin Gompa with gorgeous scenery and expansive mountain vistas. You will ascend a tough trek after a tasty supper to reach a stunning stupa from which you can glimpse Thurman and Nagthali in the distance. You reach Forpang Danda after a few hours of further walking, where you stop for lunch.
Following the dinner, you continue on the route as it continues to wound higher through the dense woodland. The pathways get more vibrant and lovely as the flowers blossom. You arrive at Shin Gompa after ascending a small set of stairs through the forests. Your attention will be captured by the stunning mountain peaks in the background, such as Langtang, Ganesh, and Annapurna. Beautiful views of the surrounding valleys and scenery may be found here.

Saraswati Kund , Bhairav Kund, Gosaikunda, Dudh Kund( Milk lake) , Chandra kund (Moon lake)and Ama Kund (mother lake) and Ragat Kund(blood kund). The large lake is Gosaikund. Gosaikund Lake has a black rock in the middle, said to be the head of shiva. according to legend , shiva created this high altitude lake when he pierced a glacier with his trident (trisul) to obtain water to quench his thirst after consuming poison gathered from the churning of the oceans ( the poison is the reason why Shiva is depicted with a blue throat). There is a white rock under the water which is said to be the remnant of an ancient Shiva shrine. It is also said that the water from this lake disappears underground via a subterranean channel and surfaces in Kumbeshwar pool, next to the five-storey Shiva temple in Patan , more than 60km away. Thousands of people come here to worship and bathe during the full moon festival each august.
The picturesque Helambu area is where you will travel today through the Laurebina La High Pass. The walk from the lodges to Gosainkunda Lake initially descends. As you get closer to the Laurebina La Cross, your walk along the northwest side will become steeper. However, you will first pass three or more small lakes as you make your way to the pass. There is a stone stupa and several prayer flags to identify the Laurebina La Pass.
The Langtang Valley with Gosaikunda Lake Trek has several high points and this pass is one among them. Once in High Camp, you hike down a broad valley to Phedi before continuing on a steeper, rocky trail. Following Phedi, you will descend to a footbridge across a stream. Prior to arriving at Ghopte, the difficult trail will lead you to Surya Kunda, a beautiful lake. Long climbs are part of the difficult route from Phedi to Ghopte.
Before arriving in the serene highland setting of Thadepati, you will travel through woods of juniper, rhododendron, and pine in a lonely, uninhabited area as a part of the Langtang Valley with Gosaikunda Trek after eating breakfast in Ghopte. Here you will find the Helambu Circuit Trek route, which you may take if you have a few more days. The trail leaves Thadepati and slowly descends through the forest on the western ridge slope.
You will reach a sizable meadow with a ruined shepherd’s cottage after a bit of trekking. Gangchempo and Dorje Lakpa peaks are seen from the way. As it passes through a forest on the way to Mangengoth, the slope then becomes steeper. You will cross Kyuola Bhanjyang and descend to the settlement of Kutumsang after a little stroll.
After briefly ascending from Kutumsang, you will drop into Gul Bhanjyang Village. After that, you will ascend to reach Thorong Danda’s wide, dusty road before continuing on a rocky, steep trail to Chipling village. Once you arrive in Pati Bhanjyang, a settlement halfway between Chipling and Chisapani, you will then gradually descend. From Pati Bhanjyang, it takes around 30 minutes to reach Chisapani, which is renowned for its breathtaking panoramas of several mountains.
From Chisapani, you must hike for four hours today in order to reach Sundarijal. The route is generally plain or downhill and is enjoyable and picturesque. You may reach Mulkharka by walking through Borlang Bhanjyang, through the Shivapuri National Park, and across forested regions. To get to Sundarijal, you will descend further through a few water reservoirs and substantial water pipelines after passing through lush woods and little valleys. The Langtang with Gosaikunda Lake Trek comes to an end at this point. You will return to Kathmandu after a one-hour drive.

Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Trek Travel Insurance
Langtang Valley with Gosaikunda Lake Trek, which is rated as being quite challenging, travels through remote areas of Nepal at a high altitude. Getting sufficient travel insurance is suggested in case something goes wrong. Travel insurance is one of the most important documents when climbing in Nepal’s high mountains. While walking, you have to overcome landslides, steep inclines and declines, and congested paths. Therefore, if visitors unluckily face any kind of impact when hiking in such a circumstance, insurance coverage would be excellent for you.
You might be able to avoid making a sizable payment all at once. As a result, we urge all hikers and explorers to buy the necessary insurance coverage, which will cover all costs associated with high peak rescue and evacuation. Verify that your insurance policy covers medical expenses, emergency helicopter evacuation, and altitude to a minimum of 5,500 meters.
Altitude Sickness and Remedies on Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Trek
Altitude sickness is a problem for hikers and mountain climbers. The oxygen level starts to drop at around 3000 meters above sea level. Altitude sickness, which is brought on by a rapid height increase, makes it difficult for people to travel to Langtang Gosaikunda Lake. Altitude sickness may not be deadly if treated well. There are several symptoms that might manifest, including a cold, headache, dizziness, exhaustion, loss of appetite, and a little rise in heart rate. You may handle these issues by bearing the following in mind:
- When symptoms are present, walk slowly first and foremost.
- Trekkers must bring medicinal supplies like ginger, garlic, and other herbs.
- Keep your body hydrated by drinking water.
- Resist smoking and consuming any type of alcohol.
- Consume a lot of calories and energy-giving meals.
- Ensure appropriate acclimatization and descend to a lower height for sleeping.
Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Trek Difficulty Level
Langtang Valley with Gosaikund Trek is quite challenging because of the elevation gain. Throughout the route, there are multiple abrupt and protracted ascents, and the first three days of the event involve an ascent of more than 2,000 meters. The trail ascends gradually until day 4 while passing through lovely woods. On day 5, you will begin at a height of 3,870 meters, which might be challenging for novices. If you are well-prepared and in strong physical shape, you can undertake the early-morning hike to Kyanjin Ri on day 6.
On Day 11, you will go across the 4610-meter-high Laurebina Pass. Trekkers also need to be able to walk for 6 to 7 hours each day while toting small backpacks. For many, the ascent to a height of about 5,000 meters will be challenging. A lot of people can have altitude sickness. The course quickly climbs altitude; on some days, the elevation rise exceeds 1000 meters. It’s a fantastic first hike in Nepal, but it shouldn’t be taken lightly.
