One of the highlights of the Kakani Shivapuri Trekking Trip is the visit to Shivapuri National Park, a protected area renowned for its diverse flora and fauna. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m) and Transfer to Hotel

Arriving at Kathmandu marks the beginning of your journey to Kakani Shivapuri trek. We, Friendship World Trek, will receive you at the airport and take you to your hotel in a private vehicle. You will also meet with your FWT guide, who will brief you about the trek. You will be spending your night in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Sightseeing Tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Valley and Trek Preparation

Kathmandu Valley is a microcosm of entire Nepal. Today, we will explore this ancient city rich in cultural heritage. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath (the Monkey temple), Boudhanath, and historic Durbar Squares. As you relish these wonders, you will also get a brief insight into these places from our tour guide. After an entire day exploring Kathmandu, you will prepare for your trek that will start the next day. Your trek lead will conduct a final check of the equipment and gear you are carrying.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Kakani (1,982m/6,502ft) (4-5 hours Drive)

We drive to Kakani about 25km, north-west of Kathmandu. Kakani is a famous place for the magnificent views of the Kathmandu Valley and panorama of the Himalayas. Kakani has also become a popular picnic spot now-a-days. Then we walk along the ridge through the Shivapuri national park. Trekking time 4-5 hours.

Day 04: Drive from Kakani to Shivapuri (2729m) approximately 4 to 5 hours

You will have to Drive to Kakani and start the hike at 9 am from there to Shivapuri (2729m), the highest point of our trek. The panoramic view of the mountains like Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang Range, Mt. Dorje Lakpa, Mt. Shishapangma, Mt. Gaurishankar and many more from the top of Shivapuri is simply awe inspiring. Standard hotel will serve the lodges and food.

Day 05: Trek from Shivapuri to Chisapani (2194m) approximately 6 to 7 hours,
We wake up early in the morning to see the sun rise over the snowcapped mountains. After the breakfast, we start our trek to Chisapani (2194m). We walk for about four hours to Chisapani. The views of mountains from this point are spectacular. Overnight at Guesthouse, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

 

Day 06: Trek from Chisapani to Nagarkot (2195m) approximately 6 hours,
Today we start our trek to Nagarkot (2175m). Nagarkot is very well known for its fantastic mountain views. It is so close from Kathmandu- just an hours’ drive from the city yet it is far from the hustle and bustle of urban life. The sunrise and sunset view from this point is fabulous. With fresh air and peaceful atmosphere, Nagarkot is a place to relax your mind and body. It is an opportunity to escape the hectic hours of life to experience the beauty of nature, the beauty of Nepal.

 

Day 07: Trek from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel (1440m) approximately 5 hours,
We wake up early for the sun rise view. After the glorious sunrise, we have our breakfast and get ready for a hiking to Dhulikhel. We have to follow the jungle trail, off road, fine road then we will reach to banepa after that Dhulikhel. An impressive vista of the snowy central Himalayas is visible in the backdrop of the gentle hills. Dhulikhel offers some of the splendid views of towering mountains. It can also be an opportunity to get some insights about local, their lifestyle and old Newari culture.

 

Day 08: Trek from Dhulikhel to Panauti (1400m) and then Drive to Kathmandu
We will walk Dhulikhel to Panauti approximately 2 hours. Panauti is a Newari village stuck between the Punyamata and Roshi streams that forms the shape of a triangle with a serpent statue standing at each of its three corners to protect the village from floods. The three-tied Indreshwor Mahadev adds to the glory of this place. It is believed that the structure was raised there in 1294 AD, making it the oldest surviving Nepal. This shrine area at the sacred confluence is called the Kowari. Panauti village exploration the opportunity to come across the lovely temple and interesting old house. The fourteenth century wooden temple struts are just amazing. After exploring the Panauti village to its fullest, we drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 09: Transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and Final Departure

Friendship World Trek representatives will drop you off at the Tribhuvan International airport in a private vehicle based on your flight schedule. We hope that you will have enjoyed your trek to the fullest.
