Itinerary


Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m) and Transfer to Hotel

Welcome to Kathmandu, a city full of vibrant markets, bustling streets, colorful temples and grand pagodas. Our guide will meet you at the airport and take you to our hotel. The remainder of the day you will have an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the shopping areas closest to your hotel and catch up on shopping for equipment. In the evening, our tour guide will give you a brief introduction and provide valuable information about the trek.

Day 02: Sightseeing Tour of World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Valley and Trek Preparation

Welcome to Kathmandu, a city full of vibrant markets, bustling streets, colorful temples and grand pagodas.Today we will utilize this day by touring around the beautiful Kathmandu Valley. We will visit the famous heritage sites of the valley and which are Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and Bouddhanath stupa. Your tour guide will accompany you throughout the Half day about 6 to 7 hours. The remainder of the day you will have an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the shopping areas closest to your hotel and catch up on shopping for equipment. Our office staff will arrange the climbing permit before going to Everest region for Climbing. We will be fully preparation at Kathmandu including last minutes checklist. In the evening, our tour guide will give you a brief introduction and provide valuable information about the trek.

Day 03: Morning Flight from Kathmandu to Tenzing and Hillary Airport in Lukla (2804m) & Trek from Lukla to Phakding (2610m).

After an early morning start you will be picked up at the hotel by our guide who will take you to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu airport. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla takes around 35 minutes, time enough to take in the spectacular views of the Himalayas. After landing at Tenzing-Hillary airport you will meet your porter who will carry your luggage. You then begin your journey with a relatively easy trek passing a Kani (ceremonial gatehouse) before the tail descends then leads above Kyangma village with its large Gompa (monastery) and school. We then continue to Cheplung village where the trail passes through community forest within sight of the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing the suspension bridge you climb across the ridge to Ghat and then passes a school and complex of Mani walls, Chortens and prayer wheels. After a short walk from Ghat we reach Phakding.

Day 04: Trek from Phakding (2610m) to Namche Bazaar (3440m) (5-6 hours Trek)

After breakfast the trek of around five to six hours crosses several suspension bridges over the Dudh Kosi River before passing through Tok-Tok, Benkar, and Monjo and then arriving at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate where you will be required to buy a permit. After following the river bed for a few hours and after the last Hillary suspension bridge, there is a steep uphill trek to Namche Bazaar. Namche has a good selection of restaurants, a cyber café, pubs, post office, ATM and banks. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

Day 05: Rest and Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar (3440m)

Today is a rest day dedicated to acclimatization in Namche Bazaar. Although we will be taking it easy, it doesn’t mean you’ll be sitting still. Instead, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the vibrant alleys of Namche and allow your body to adjust to the increasing altitude. It’s a great chance to immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of this Sherpa market town.

During your time in Namche, we recommend indulging in the delectable treats from the renowned bakeries that dot the town. Savor the flavors of freshly baked goods, such as pastries and bread, which are a popular delight among trekkers.

In addition to strolling through Namche, you will embark on a hike to Sagarmatha National Park and Khumjung, located at an elevation of 3,790 meters. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to visit Khumjung Monastery, which is believed to house a scalp believed to be from a mythical creature known as the yeti. The monastery is steeped in local legends and offers an intriguing glimpse into the Sherpa culture.

As you continue your hike, you will also come across Hillary’s School, named after Sir Edmund Hillary, and several ancient monasteries that hold spiritual significance for the local community. The trek to Khumjung can be extended to Khunde, where you can explore further and gain insights into the Sherpa way of life.

Another highlight of the day is a visit to Syangboche Airport, one of the highest airports in the world, located at an altitude of 3,780 meters. Witness the remarkable feat of engineering that allows planes to land and take off amidst the challenging terrain of the Himalayas.

For those seeking more panoramic views of Everest, you have the option to trek to Everest View Hotel, which offers breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains, including the majestic Everest itself.

Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar (3,440m) to Phortse Thanga (3650m) via Mong La (3957m) and Trek to Dole 4,200m,(7 Hours Trek)

The trail from Namche Bazaar to Dole presents a mix of uphill and downhill sections, offering a varied and exciting trekking experience. As you set off from Namche, you will initially descend until you reach the picturesque Mong La Pass at an elevation of 3,957 meters. This scenic spot provides a fantastic vantage point to admire the surrounding landscape.

Continuing on the trail, you will make your way toward Phortse Thenga, crossing through enchanting pine forests teeming with diverse flora and fauna. The vibrant vegetation adds to the beauty of the surroundings, creating a serene and captivating atmosphere. Along the way, you will be treated to awe-inspiring views of iconic peaks such as Mount Amadablam (6,812m) and Mount Khumbila (5,761m), which add a touch of grandeur to the trek.

After Phortse Thenga 3650m, the path will lead you further up, gradually ascending towards Dole. As you approach your destination, the scenery becomes increasingly breathtaking, with magnificent vistas unfolding before your eyes. Day 07: Trek from Dole (4200m) to Machermo (4410m) (7 hours Trek)

Today after early morning breakfast we will ascend from Dole, and routinely go up towards Machermo passing by tea shops, a lovely scene yet very little greenery with all-encompassing perspectives on the mountains. The trail climbs an edge for a magnificent view both down the valley to Kengtega and up towards Cho Oyu and slides to a stream and again climbs soak to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpz icy mass.

Day 08: Trek from Machermo (4410m) to Gokyo Lakes (4750m) (6 hours Trek)

Morning walk leads to Gokyo Lake following a scenic trail to Pangka 4,545m, then climb on rocky path into ablation valley passing first lake and then second lakes, to reach a third lake called Dudh Pokhari or Gokyo Lake.

This beautiful area within Gokyo at 4,750 meters high, after lunch short walk around lake with views of Mt. Cho Oyu world’s 06th highest and Gyachung Kang that reflects on emerald Gokyo Lake.

Day 09: Rest and Acclimatization day & Trek from Gokyo to Gokyo Ri (4750m) & Trek from Gokyo (4750m) to Thangnak (4500m)

The purpose today is to help you acclimatize before heading to higher elevations. Health professionals suggest staying active, so today we trek for around 6 to 7 hours beginning in the early morning with a steep climb up to the peak of Gokyo Ri (5483m). The stunning views will leave you spellbound and put your camera into overdrive! The magnificent views Gokyo valley, the enormous Ngozumpa Glacier (world’s highest), incredible panoramic views of the entire Khumbu region, including the towering peaks of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and Gychung Kang (7952m). Trek to the foot of Cho La Pass. Due to its isolation, our accommodation tonight will be in a dormitory.

Day 10: Trek from Thangnak (4500m) to Dzong La (4830m) via Cho La Pass (5367m)

Starting before dawn with long climb to top of Cho – la pass (actual spelling Tsho -la) over rocky moraine, in snow condition. This will be tough to find the right path in snow and ice, walking on rubble of moraine reaching at the top enclosed by Cholatse, Nirekha and Taboche peaks, after a hard climb to the top, descend to a small valley at Dzong-la for overnight halt.

Day 11: Trek from Dzong La (4830m) to Cholatse Base Camp (4595m) (6-7 hours Trek)

After having an early morning breakfast, we trek to Cholatse Base Camp. Along the way, we pass through beautiful forests and an amazing all-encompassing perspective of all the Khumbu Himalayas. We will also pass through there. By lunchtime, we will reach Base Camp. After reaching the base camp we will rest for a while and explore the surrounding of Base Camp. Overnight at Base Camp.

Day 12: Rest and Acclimatization and preparation day in Base Camp 4595m

Today we will spend our day resting in Base Camp. We will enjoy the beautiful views of the Himalayas from the base camp. In order to be prepared for the upcoming challenges with the change of altitude, we will certainly need some breaks to energize ourselves. But our Sherpa team and Camp fixing team go camping to fix and prepare all the Camps. We will seize this opportunity to explore the places around the base camp.

Day 13: Climb from Cholatse Base Camp (4595m) to Camp I (5130m)

Today after early morning breakfast we will ascend from Base Camp to Camp I. The whole course is fixed, and climbers will be associated with this rope by means of jumar and sling as they cross fourth and fifth-class rock around gendarmes and up towers. It can prove to be a little tiring but equally worth it. Today our Sherpa team will go to Camping II for further management of camps in Camp II.

Day 14: Climb from Camp I (5130m) to Camp II (5680m)

We will descend back to Base camp from Camp I. Also, the camp fixing team who went camping II for preparation of camp will descend back to the base camp. After arriving at base camp we will rest for a while and explore the surroundings.

Day 15: Climb from Camp II (5680m) to Summit Cholatse Peak 6335m and Descend to Camp I (5130m)

The day starts with soak climbing directly out of camp II towards the Cholatse Peak. The course crosses right, around certain precipices, and afterward gets together with the 40–60 degree snow rib that prompts the summit. We move along this uncovered snow edge. After summiting the peak we will descend to Camp I.

Day 16: Trek from Camp I (5130m) to Base Camp (4595m)

After early morning breakfast, today we head back to base camp from camp I. We will take proper rest and enjoy the view around the camp situated at 4595 meters.

Day 17: Contingency day in case of bad unfavorable weather conditions.

Reserved in case of bad unfavorable weather condition as contingency day if all goes well according to our plan and itinerary days enjoy leisure walk back to Lukla with time to marvel the beauty of high Khumbu valley.

Day 18: Trek from Base Camp (4595m) to Phortse ,(3750m)

Today we trek from Base camp to Phortse. In transit, one can explore wild creatures like mountain goats, musk deer, and numerous types of Himalayan birds. There are religious communities too at Pangboche and Phortse which were accepted to have been developed during the sixteenth century. The Pangboche town has additionally picked up its fame as the most elevated settlement on earth.

Day 19: Trek from Phortse (3750m) to Namche Bazaar, (3440m)

After breakfast, the trek heads from Phortse to Namche Bazaar at 3440 meters. The path here climbs up steeply for just about one hour to Mongla situated at 4000 meters. From this spot, you can see an all-encompassing perspective on Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kusum Kangaru, Konde-Ri, and Tawache top.

Day 20: Trek from Namche Bazaar (3440m) to Lukla, (2804m)

Today, it’s only a brief walk along the valley before we make the final climb up to the airstrip at Lukla. Lunch is served at our lodge and the afternoon is free for you to wander around, relax or perhaps have a hot shower! In the evening, we’ll have a farewell dinner followed by a few celebratory drinks.

Day 21: Fly from Lukla (2804m) to Kathmandu,(1350m)

Early morning wake up and take a cup of Tea then checking the baggage at the Tenzing Hillary Airport to return Flight to Kathmandu via Ramechhap (Manthali Airport) or take a land transportation direct to Kathmandu, it takes 4 hours drive to reach Hotel in the evening we will have a dinner together

Day 22: Final Departure from Kathmandu

Your last day in Nepal, country of Himalayan wonders and as per your international flight time depart for homeward bound or to next respective connecting destinations.

Our staff and guide transfer you to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport after a mesmerizing adventure and great experience on Cholatse Peak Climbing Trip.
