As you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, we will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel in Kathmandu. Since this is a major expedition, our team lead will brief you about the tour in detail. You can explore the city in the evening or rest at the hotel and prepare for the journey.

You will prepare for the Lhotse Expedition on the second and third days. You will meet your team members, porters, and Sherpa guides for the journey. You must complete other formalities, including the various permits for climbing and trekking.
You need to show these permits at various checkpoints along the trail. You will also learn about the route to the summit. First aid facilities, trekking gears, equipment, and emergency safety protocols are other factors that you will learn.

The flight in the early morning will take you to Lukla. You will rest for some time and then continue your journey on the trek. The trail on this trekking day will lead you to Phakding. The flight to Lukla from Kathmandu takes around 35-40 minutes.
Located at the cliff’s edge, with a narrow runway, the airport is quite dangerous. You will trek for 3-4 hrs to complete the journey to Phakding. The views of Mt. Khumbila and Mt. Kusum Kangraru highlights the trek. You will stay in Phakding for the night.
Namche Altitude: 3440m

Overnight: Hotel of Namche Bazaar

The trek on this day takes you to the beautiful destination of Namche Bazaar. The trail of this section of the trek will pass alongside the Dudh Koshi River. There are many forested trails and suspension bridges that you will pass through along the trails.
After trekking for some time, you will arrive at the entry point of the Sagarmatha National Park in Monjo. You can show your permits and then continue your journey to Namche. After a slight descent, you will climb for some time to arrive at Namche.

Namche Bazaar is a beautiful settlement and has many acclimatization points. There you can hike to the Khunde and Khumjung hills. Also, the Syangboche viewpoint is a great hiking destination to observe the snow-clad Himalayan vista.
You can visit the Sherpa museum, dedicated to the people and their mountaineering heritage. After hiking and exploring the region’s beautiful landscapes, you will return to Namche and rest overnight.
Deboche Altitude: 3820m
Trek Duration: 5-6 hrs
Overnight: Tea Houses/Lodge of Deboche

You will continue trekking in the serene landscapes of the region from Namche. The trail will lead you to the settlements of Deboche on this day. Trekkers will pass through the glacial path alongside the Dudh Koshi River.
Trekkers can observe Mount Everest, Mt Nuptse, Mt Ama Dablam, and others. The trail has many forested areas that lead you to Sansa. From Sansa, we will then trek to the Tengboche monastery, an important religious site in the Khumbu region.
There is a huge festival in the area during the Mani Rimdu festival. From Tengboche, you will descend gradually into a forested trail to arrive at Deboche. After arriving at Deboche, you will rest in the teahouse for the night.
Dingboche Altitude: 4410m

On this trekking day, you will trek through the serene terrains. You will arrive at the settlement of Dingboche. We will then descend further to the Imja River. The trail then climbs to dense forest lands to arrive at Pangboche. From Pangboche, you will continue your trek to Pheriche alongside the Lobuche River. The trail will climb steeply to arrive at Dingboche finally.
Dingboche remains covered in large walls to protect the crops of buckwheat, potatoes, barley, etc. You can observe the sweeping views from the settlement, including Mt Makalu and the Imja River. We will rest overnight at the teahouse in Dingboche.

On day nine, you will rest and acclimatize in Dingboche. The beautiful village settlements are ideal for acclimatization. There are various settlements where you can go on a complete cultural exploration.
In the Chukung village, you can climb the trekking peak of Chukung Ri. The serene views of the entire region, including Mt Cho Oyu, Lhotse wall, and Mt Pumori, will enchant you. You will return after exploring around.

The trail on this day will take you to Chukung from Dingboche. The beautiful region will provide you with the best scenic views. The course will lead you through the picturesque landscapes close to Island Peak. The Chukhung route is quite scenic. After arriving at the settlement, you will spend the night at the teahouse in Chhukung.
Island Peak Base Camp Altitude: 5200m

On this trekking day, you will trek from Chukung to finally arrive at Island Peak Base Camp. The trail in this section is quite challenging, with many boulders and glacial paths. We pass through the Lhotse glacier and arrive at the Base Camp. Finally, at the base camp, we will set up tents with the help of Sherpa guides and rest overnight.

This particular day gets separated for climbing training in the Island peak base camp. You will take various training during your stay in the base camp area. The training regime will provide the best preparation for Island peak climbing.
You will learn about mountain routes, climbing techniques, gears like fixed ropes, ascenders, carabiners, jumars, etc. You will get briefed about the safety measures you can take in the region. After training and practicing, you can rest overnight at the base camp.
Island Peak Altitude: 6,119m

On the 13th day of the Lhotse Expedition, we will continue your journey to the summit of Island Peak. The journey starts early in the morning. The trail is moderately challenging, but a steep climbing section is near the top of the summit.
After you arrive at the top of the summit, you will get awe-inspiring views of the snow-clad mountains. You can observe Mt Nuptse, Makalu, Mt Lhotse, Mt Baruntse, Ama Dablam, and others from the top. You will return to the base camp after some time.
Island Peak Base Camp Altitude: 5200m

The trail then leads you to the east on challenging terrain as you pass through the Khumbu Icefall via Kongma La. The course is quiet, with no settlements. But the views of the snow-clad mountains, including Island Peak and Amphu Lapcha Pass, are pretty enchanting. After trekking alongside the river for some time, you will arrive at Lobuche.
Gorak Shep Altitude: 5170m

This trek section from Lobuche to Gorak Shep passes through the Khumbu Glacier. There are many memorials in the region of the climbers who have perished in the region. After crossing the Khumbu Glacier, you will finally arrive at the Changri Nup glacier. The trail then continues before finally arriving at the settlement of Gorakshep.

The trek section passes through the beautiful terrains to arrive at the Lhotse Base Camp. The trail gets tougher as you move along the path. The ascent gradually gets steep, providing sweeping views of the snow-clad mountains. The trail then leads you to the rocky dunes to finally arrive at the Lhotse Base Camp or the Everest Base Camp.

From day 17 to day 20, you will acclimatize at the Lhotse Base Camp. This process is essential as it helps you to tackle various challenges like altitude sickness. The Lhotse Base Camp/ Everest base camp provides sweeping views of the snow-clad mountains, including Pumori, Nuptse, and others.
This base camp is also the base camp for the Everest expedition. You will acclimatize, train for the expedition using trekking gear and equipment, including fixed ropes, ascenders, carabiners, jumars, etc. You will also have practice sessions to tackle the challenging terrains in the Lhotse Base Camp.
Camp I Altitude: 5900m

The trek from Base Camp to Camp I is on the cards from days 21-22. You will climb about 750 meters through snow and rocky walls these days. We will also cross the famous Khumbu Glacier by a ladder. The journey to Camp I is relatively difficult as it is the first day of the climb. There are various ascends in this journey hence, you need to start early. After arriving at Camp I, you will explore before returning to the base camp.

This is a rest day at the base camp. You will train for the climb and then prepare for the trek.

The trekking journey starts early as you pass through the various terrains to arrive at Camp I. The path is the one you have traveled before. Hence, it will be easier. You will arrive at Camp I after 7 hrs where you can stay for 2 days. In these 2 days, you will rest and acclimatize. You will also prepare for Camp II.

The trail to Camp II takes around 9-10 hr. The Camp located in the West ridge bottom takes you through the gorge. At the Camp, we will acclimatize to the surroundings and prepare for Camp III. The trail will then lead you to Camp II, passing through the big steep faces. You will require Ice and ladder climbing during the journey.

On Day 28, we will continue your journey passing through the beautiful terrains. The ascend to Camp III can get quite challenging as the effects of high altitude might be visible on some climbers. There you will use fixed ropes with steep climbs of 30 to 45 degrees. After arriving at Camp III, you will rest overnight. The following day you will rest, acclimatize and prepare for the trek.

We will descend to Camp II and rest overnight on this day. You will try to adapt to the changing high altitude conditions.

On day 37, we will continue our journey through challenging terrains to arrive at Camp III. You will find it easier to travel as your body will acclimate to some extent. There we will rest after arriving at Camp III for two days.

On Day 39, you will continue your trek to Camp IV. The beautiful destination will pass through the serene landscapes. We will ascend to Camp IV (7900 m), passing through a 40-45 degrees face which takes around 8 hours. We will rest at the Camp and prepare for the summit ascent.
Lhotse summit Altitude: 8,516 m

On day 40, you will summit the Lhotse peak on a 12-hour climb. Since the weather is not the best in the afternoon, we will have to climb early and arrive at the summit before 12. There are Sherpa guides who will help you to climb the summit of Lhotse.
The Sherpa guides ensure your safety and follow all the protocols necessary during the climb. They will install fixed ropes, harnesses, and all the essential gear and equipment. There are 40-45 degrees climbing walls and an 80-degree bulge.
The serene views of Mount Everest (8848 m), Nuptse (7879m), Ama Dablam (6856 m), Khumbu glacier, and others are pretty stunning. The weather at the summit is very windy and harsh, and unpredictable. Hence you will return to Camp II after observing the beautiful landscapes.

On this day of the Lhotse Expedition, you will trek back to the base camp trek. We will stay overnight at the Base Camp.

These two free days allow you to explore the various cultural landmarks of the Kathmandu valley. You can visit the beautiful durbar squares of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur. You can observe the region’s rich cultural heritage or explore the city.
