Itinerary


Day 01: Arrival Leh and Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival Leh airport, pick-up and transfer to hotel. After tea/coffee rest in hotel to get acclimatization. Evening walking walking tour in Leh bazaar. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Full Day Sightseeing of Leh City

In the morning after breakfast, visit some of the most beautiful monasteries in Leh, including Shey, Thiksey and Hemis. The Shey monastery is situated 15 km away from Leh. It was once an ancient summer palace of the Kings of Ladakh, and there are many Stupas and Temples (Gompas) built around it. The Shey Gompa was built in the 17th century by Deldan Namgyal. It’s biggest attraction is the 12 m high statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, which is inside the Dresthang Gompa. Close to the Shey Gompa lies the Thiksey Gompa, which is 17 km away from Leh and is considered as one of the most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh. Hemis monastery is located 45 km south of Leh. It is one of the most well known and the biggest monasteries of Ladakh. It was founded at the beginning of the 17th century of the Drukpa order. The countryside is amazing as the monastery is located in a valley, surrounded by streams, and the façade is decorated in stone tablets that are engraved with prayers. After exploring these tree monasteries return back to your hotel in Leh for an overnight stay.

Day 03: Leh to Martselang to Chogdo (3-4 Hrs) 

After Breakfast drive to Martselang and start trekking to Chogdo. Overnight in Camp.

Day 04 : Chogdo - Gyuncho La (4600 m) - Base Camp at 4350 m in 6- 7 h. 

From now on, we will follow a new and rarely traveled route through the valleys to the east of our objective. Today, we turn towards the west into a tributary valley that leads after a long and gradual ascent to the Gyuncho La. From the pass we walk towards south to the Base of Matho West. Overnight in Camp.

Day 05: Base Camp to Matho West Summit (6230m) 8-9 Hours

Early morning Start Climbing Matho from south to North. It is little easy ascent to the Summit from where you can have wonderful view of surrounding Peaks, valleys and Karakoram Range. Walk back to Camp. Overnight in Camp.

Day 06: Base Camp at 4350 m - Shang La (4800 m)- Matho Phu (4350 m)in6 h.

Today, we will cross many spurs and minor passes with occasional views northwards towards the Indus Valley and the peaks beyond. We climb up to the Shang La and then descend to the Tokpo River. Afterwards we will trek downhill to a nice camping place.

Day 07: Matho Phu - Matho La (4820 m) –Mankarmo (4500 m) in 4-5 h. 

At the pass, colorful prayer flags flap in the wind, with the Zanskari range in the background. Afterwards, we descend steadily along the Jingchan River. We get great views towards the Stock summit and the Stock Kangri (6121m). Overnight in Camp.

Day 08: Mankarmo to Stok to Leh

Morning after the breakfast walk down to Stok and drive to Leh.

Day 09: Departure from Leh and Transfer

Early morning  transfer to Leh airport for onward destination flight.
