Itinerary
Upon arrival Leh airport, pick-up and transfer to hotel. After tea/coffee rest in hotel to get acclimatization. Evening walking walking tour in Leh bazaar. Overnight at hotel.
After Breakfast drive to Martselang and start trekking to Chogdo. Overnight in Camp.
From now on, we will follow a new and rarely traveled route through the valleys to the east of our objective. Today, we turn towards the west into a tributary valley that leads after a long and gradual ascent to the Gyuncho La. We descent a few meters bellow to establish our campsite.
Today, we will cross many spurs and minor passes with occasional views northwards towards the Indus Valley and the peaks beyond. We climb up to the Shang La and then descend to the Tokpo River. Afterwards we will trek downhill to a nice camping place.
At the pass, colorful prayer flags flap in the wind, with the Zanskari range in the background. Afterwards, we descend steadily along the Jingchan River. We get great views towards the Stock summit and the Stock Kangri (6121m). Overnight in Camp.
Morning after the breakfast walk down to Stok and drive to Leh.
Early morning on time departure transfer to Leh airport to catch onward destination.

Trip Information
Trek from Hemis to Stok via Matho-phu is an overall moderate trek which take not more than 5 days. It focuses more on Remote villages, High mountain & Passes. Tour sector: Leh / Martselang / Chogdo / Gyuncho La / Shang La / Matho La / Mankarmo / Stok / Leh, the best month for trekking is from Mid June to End of September.
It start from Shang Sumdo and from there you’ll take a short warm-up walk to Chogdo to acclimatize to the high altitude. Next day start walking to Gyuncho la which is located at 4600 m and take around 6 – 7 hours. . From there, we’ll descend a few meters below to establish our campsite. Campsite to Matho Phu we will cross many spurs and minor passes with occasional view northwards towards the Indus Valley and the peaks situated beyond. Walking towards Mankarmo We’ll be witnessing great views of the Stok summit and the Stok Kangri (6121m. At the pass, colorful prayer flags flap along the wind, with the Zanskar range in the background. From Mankarmo we will walk down to Stok. There we came to end of our trekking trip.
