Itinerary
Our safari tour starts on this day. At 7 A.M, we take departure to Sauraha, Chitwan on a tourist bus from Thamel station. Kathmandu to Chitwan distance is 155 km thus it takes 5-6 hours to reach our ultimate destination.
Our Day 1 Chitwan Tours schedule includes;
01:00 P.M: Arrival at Chitwan Jungle Lodge/Resort, Welcome drinks, and today’s program briefing
On arrival at Chitwan Hotels at Sauraha, we are welcomed with refreshment drinks and transfer to respective rooms. After refreshments, our tour leader/representative will describe you about today programs.
01:30 P.M: Lunch at Sauraha Jungle Hotel.
Enjoy the authentic foods of the Terai region while having remarkable forest wildlife views.
02:00 P.M: Remote Tharu village visit and other fun activities
Taking some rest after a heavy lunch, we start our safari tour with a grand Elephant’s back ride. From the top of the Elephant, you can observe wide and safe views of the wildlife of Chitwan National Park. Throughout your Elephant Jungle Safari Tour, you encounter rare animals and birds such as one-horned rhinos, Bengal tigers, pheasants, etc.
Later in the evening, we take a visit to a remote but rich cultural village of the Tharu community. Here, you can experience their rural lifestyle, culture, tradition and also taste their unique dishes.
06:00 P.M: Dinner at Sauraha Jungle Safari Lodge.
After a long adventurous day, we have dinner at Sauraha lodge under the open sky near the forest area. You can taste authentic local dishes such as Nepalese Dal, Bhat, Gundruk, pickles, chicken and mutton curry, salads, ghee and sweet curd for dessert. There are also fire camping facilities for those who want extra wildlife experience.
08:00 P.M: Cultural/Musical Performance by Tharu people
Tharu people are one of the original tribes of this region. They are famous for their distinct culture, traditions, foods, and arts. After having dinner, you will have a musical/cultural night where Tharu people will entertain you through their performances. Overnight at Sauraha Lodge.
Our Day 2 Jungle Safari Tour in Chitwan schedule includes;
05:00 A.M: Wakeup Call
The hotel staff will give you an early morning wake up call.
05:30 A.M: Coffee or Tea
Enjoy your early morning tea or coffee and get refreshed and relaxed viewing remarkable scenery of the green forest.
07:00 A.M: Breakfast and Departure to Kathmandu Valley.
Completing the birds watching tour we then have some breakfast at lodge; then we head back to Kathmandu following the same route.
