Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, our representative will pick you up and escort you to the hotel. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Today we start our tour from Monkey Temple / Swayambhunath, and explore the ancient palace and temples of Kathmandu Durbar Square. Later, you will explore Patan Durbar Square and visit the museum situated in the Durbar Square premises. Both Kathmandu and Patan Durbar Squares boast of the ancient history and architecture of the former rulers of the respective cities. These palace squares also showcase the extraordinary skills of the ancient artists with the many wood and stone carving found in the many temples of the respective areas. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Today we first visit the oldest temple of Changunarayan. The temple contains some of the most exemplary wood carvings in the country. And on your way back, you will visit the ancient Newar town of Bhaktapur. Walking through the narrow alleys with traditional houses on each side, you will make your way towards Bhaktapur Durbar Square, where you can observe the rich art and architecture of the Newar community. Afterward, you will visit the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath and the Buddhist shrine of Boudhanath before heading back to the hotel in Kathmandu.

Today, you’ll take an approximately 8-hour long drive to the peaceful land of Lumbini. Lumbini is the birthplace of Gautama Buddha hence consists of many monasteries made by various countries. Upon your arrival in Lumbini, you will visit the sacred garden of Lumbini along with the Ashoka Pillar and Maya Devi Temple. Maya Devi Temple is believed to be the spot where Maya Devi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama, and as a proof, the temple houses the ruins of an ancient palace. Overnight in Lumbini.

Today you will explore the Lumbini vicinity while taking in the peaceful environ of the area. You will visit the various monasteries in Lumbini and also visit the World Peace Stupa. Afterward, you will drive 27km south of Lumbini to visit Tilaurakot, where you can see the ruins of the ancient palace of King Suddodhan, the father of Prince Siddhartha Gautama. Tilaurakot is the place where Gautama Buddha spent his formative years as a Shakya Prince. In the evening, you will visit the Kapilvastu Museum, where you can find many archeological monuments. After the exploration, drive back to Lumbini for the overnight stay.

Leaving Lumbini, you will head to yet another historical city today. You will start the drive to Gorkha early just in case there is traffic en route. Enjoying the amazing countryside views along the highway, you reach Gorkha. Gorkha is a beautiful city in the mid-hills which is also the birthplace of King Prithvi Narayan Shah who started the unification process of Nepal. Overnight in Gorkha.

Gorkha Durbar is one of the major attractions here in Gorkha. So, you will drive to the base of the palace and then start hiking on stone steps to reach the ancient palace of Gorkha, which hosts amazing views of Gorkha city as well as the surrounding green landscape. You will later visit the Gorak Nath Temple and explore the market of Gorkha city. After exploring Gorkha, drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Your tour comes to an end today. Our representative will drive you to the airport to connect you to your scheduled flight.
