Itinerary

Arriving at Kathmandu marks the beginning of your journey to Pokhara Valley trek. We, Friendship World Trek, will receive you at the airport and take you to your hotel in a private vehicle. You will also meet with your FWT guide, who will brief you about the trek. You will be spending your night in Kathmandu.

  • Overnight stay at a Three Star Hotel in Kathmandu

Kathmandu Valley is a microcosm of entire Nepal. Today, we will explore this ancient city rich in cultural heritage. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath (the Monkey temple), Boudhanath, and historic Durbar Squares. As you relish these wonders, you will also get a brief insight into these places from our tour guide. After an entire day exploring Kathmandu, you will prepare for your trek that will start the next day. Your trek lead will conduct a final check of the equipment and gear you are carrying.

After early breakfast, start our drive towards the Charaundi-the rafting point. The drive up to the Charaundi is 3 hours along the KathmanduPrithivi Highway to the raft-put-in point on the banks of the Trishuli River. On arrival at the river point, Meet rafting crew for an on-the-spot-briefing and commence on a full-day White Water Rafting trip. After lunch and a brief rest, wind up rafting trip and continue drive to Pokhara.

Overnight at Hotel.

Start a trek after reaching Phedi by car (30 minutes) and trek up to Dhampus, walking mostly uphill through cultivated fields and local villages. This scenic Gurung Village is inhabited by a mix of people: Gurung, Brahman, Magar communities and it offers a spectaular view of the Himalayan ranges including the Anapurna and Machhapuchhre range.

Overnight at Guest House.

Wake up early in the morning for sunrise and good Mountain View. Today, the trail descends down to Dhampus River (Stream) and after crossing the river, trail ascends gradually through the paddy fields and small forest to reach Naudanda Village. After having a lunch in Naudanda working through the Chhetri and Brahmins Villages after working slowly 3 hour you will arrive Sarangkot. Sarangkot offers a Himalayan panorama consisting of the mighty peaks such as the Annapurna, Himalchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Lamjung himal.

Overnight at Guest House

Today very early in the morning hike to Sarangkot viewpoint to see the stunning sunrise view over the top of Himalaya ranges of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Fishtail then we descend to Sarangkot to the bus station to catch our car and 1 hrs drive back to Pokhara,

Wake up early in the morning to observe the sunrise over the Whole Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges including fishtail as well as other Soaring Mountain. After having a breakfast, First Day Sightseeing of around Pokhara Valley Begins:

Tal Barahi Temple

Tal Barahi temple (Nepaliतालबाराही मन्दिर) also known as ‘Lake Temple’ or ‘Barahi Temple’ is a Hindu temple of the goddess Barahi. It is the most important religious monument in Pokhara, Nepal. This temple is located on a small island in the middle of Phewa Lake. As the temple is situated on a small island, the only way to visit it is by boat.[1][2] The temple is a symbol of the manifestation of Ajima representing the female force. Devotees visit the temple in the Nepalese months of Baisakh (April-May) and Kartik (November-December)

Begnas Lake

Begnas Lake (Nepaliबेगनास ताल) is a freshwater lake in Pokhara Metropolis of Kaski district of Nepal[4] located in the south-east of the Pokhara Valley. The lake is the third largest lake of Nepal and second largest, after Phewa Lake, among the eight lakes in Pokhara Valley.[1][3] Water level in the lake fluctuates seasonally due to rain, and utilization for irrigation. The water level is regulated through a dam constructed in 1988 on the western outlet stream, Khudi Khola.

Mahendra Cave

Mahendra Cave is a cave located in Pokhara-16,batulechaur, Kaski district, close to the Kali khola,[1] is a large limestone cave. It is a rare example of a cave system in Nepal containing stalagmites and stalactites.[2] This show cave attracts thousands of tourists every year.[3] A statue of Hindu lord Shiva can be found inside the cave.

Rupa Lake

Rupa Lake or Rupa Tal is a freshwater lake in Nepal located in the border of Pokhara Metropolitan and Rupa Rural Municipality of Kaski District.[1] It is the third biggest lake in Pokhara valley of Nepal and at an altitude of 600 m (1,969 ft) covering area about 1.35 km2 (0.5 sq mi)[2] with an average water depth 3 m (9.8 ft) and maximum depth 6 m (20 ft).[3] The lake is elongated north to south and is fed by perennial streams. Its watershed area is 30 km2,[4] where The main inflow of water is from Talbesi stream, whereas Dhovan khola is the feeder stream with its outlet Tal khola at Sistani ghat.[5] It supports a number of floral and faunal species. A total of 36 species of waterbirds have been recorded in the lake which represents about 19 percent of the total 193 wetland-dependent birds found in Nepal.[6]

Shanti Stupa

Pokhara Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist monument on Anadu Hill of the former Pumdi Bhumdi Village Development Committee, in the district of KaskiNepal[1] (now a part of the city of Pokhara).

Shanti Stupa in Pokhara was built by Nipponzan-Myōhōji monk Morioka Sonin with local supporters under the guidance of Nichidatsu Fujii, a Buddhist monk and the founder of Nipponzan-MyōhōjiShanti is a Sanskrit word meaning peace, also widely used in the Nepali and Hindi languages, and Shanti Stupa means Peace Pagoda. Shanti Stupa shrine was built as a symbol of peace. Situated at the height of 1100 meters on the Anadu Hill, Nichidatsu Fujii laid the foundation stone along with relics of the Buddha on 12 September 1973.[1][2] Nepal has two of the eighty peace pagodas in the world: Shanti Stupa in Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha and Shanti Stupa in Pokhara. Shanti Stupa in Pokhara has also become a tourist attraction. It provides a panoramic view of the Annapurna range, Pokhara city and Fewa Lake.

Devis Fall

Devi’s Falls (Nepaliपाताले छाँगो) is a waterfall located at Pokhara in Kaski DistrictNepal.[1][2]

The water forms a tunnel after reaching the bottom. This tunnel is approximately 500 feet (150 m) long and runs 100 feet (30 m) below ground level. On 31 July 1961, a Swiss male-female couple went swimming but the woman drowned in a pit because of the overflow. Her body was recovered three days later in river Phusre with great effort. Her father wished to name it “David’s falls” after her daughter’s name but changed to Devi’s Fall. Its Nepali name is Patale Chango, which literal meaning is Paatal Ko Chango means “Underworld’s Waterfall”.[3] This is one of the most visited places in Nepal.

Bindhyabasini Temple

The Bindhyabasini Temple (Nepali: बिन्ध्यबासिनी मन्दिर) is the oldest temple in the city of PokharaNepal and is located in Ward No. 2, Miruwa.[1] It regularly attracts a large number of locals, Nepalis from across the country and foreigners alike.[2] The main temple is devoted to the goddess Bindhyabasini, a Bhagawati who is the incarnation of Kali. There are smaller temples of the goddess SaraswatiShivaHanuman, and Ganesha on the premises. The temple is situated atop a small hill and can be accessed via stone staircases on the East and North East.

The views of the Himalayas from the North of the temple are breathtaking while from the South one can see the expanse of Pokhara city.

Time Duration: 6-7 hrs

We conclude our trek in the Annapurna region and bid farewell to the mountains and the enchanting Pokhara. After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu on a tourist bus. It’s a 200 km route that first follows the Marsyangdi River and then the Trishuli River.

Alternatively, you can fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu at your own cost, as the flight cost is not covered by this package. Your trek package completes in Kathmandu.

Food on Pokhara Valley Trek

Common Breakfast options – Tibetan Breads (a fried bread in oil, it’s also named by Gurung bread in Annapurna area), Chapati with Cheese (dry bread- a local wheat bread), Oatmeal, French toast with jam, honey and peanut butter, Corn Flakes, Hashed brown, fried, Scrambles and boiled eggs, pancakes, porridge with milk, Muesli, Vegetable items and any kind of hot drinks are available except espresso, Americano

Drinking Water on trek

The water on a trek is available at every trekking lodges or shopping shops along the way, buying a regular bottle of mineral water costs 1-3 USD per litter. Annapurna region has plenty of water sources to get the water as you can also refill the water from the random taps or water source, refilling waters from any of those sources is potable but it will be fine to drink with a Lifetraw or using the water purification pills – at least 2-4 L water per day is recommended to drink that keeps you hydrated.

Accommodation Facts 

Accommodations on the mountain are simple in tea hoses/ Trekking Lodges. The rooms come usually in double occupancy with a wooden bed, blankets, mattresses, pillows, attached bathrooms (not everywhere), and the view is spectacular from the rooms of mountain tea houses. Likewise, single rooms are available ( except Himalaya and ABC) and it will be provided for solo female travelers.

We will ensure and accommodate you to the best available tea houses with great views of the mountain and sceneries during the trek

NOTE: Kathmandu has a large range of luxury stars hotels offers to select for your stay. However, we will also be pleased to part of this help to make the reservations for the 4 50 5 starts hotel booking as well on request.

Best Time to Do 

Choose the best month for your remarkable trekking experience of a lifetime! Nepal has five seasons like many other countries; spring, Summer, Monsoon, Autumn, and Winter. Among all these seasons there is mainly two distinct trekking season for Poon Hill  or any region treks in Nepal which are autumn and spring.

Spring (Pre-monsoon) – Spring includes Feb, March, April, and May, the weather in this month is largely stable and dry with a moderate climate. This time of the year is fairly perfect for trekking in the Everest region offers a crystal clear view of the mountains and sceneries every day, the Temperature can reach up to 15- 20 degrees Celsius in the daytime and the temperature at the nighttime can drop down to – 8/12 degrees Celsius. The spring welcomes thousands of flora and vegetation that make the trek more beautiful and enjoyable in Nepal.

Autumn (Post monsoon)- Autumn is another great season for trekking on Poon Hill, Autumn includes months of September, October, November, and December. During the autumn, the temperatures should be rated as between 14-20 degrees in the daytime, and nighttime can decrease to -5/10 degrees Celsius, it’s great for the trekking.

Safety and Satisfactions 

SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY- NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE SAFETY AND HEALTH OF OUR CLIENTS AND EMPLOYEES.

This trek is a guided trip and you will be accompanied by one of the experienced and friendly trekking guides/ Sherpa who originally come from the mountain (same region) of Nepal, the guide will be carrying all the essentials equipment with first aid kit for safety reasons; we would like you to take some of your own personal mediation on this trek. However, in the emergency case, if our clients have any trouble with mountain sickness or any unforeseen circumstances then we will always be standing by to send a rescue helicopter to bring our clients back to lower places or Kathmandu.

Note:During the trek, make sure you are always on the safe zone of the place wherever you are while trekking on the mountain because you may encounter a number of mules, yaks are carrying the suppliers for hotels, Yaks Donkey and Jokpa use for the major transportations in the Himalayas region, as we always need to be aware with them, and stay at the safe place especially at the narrow section of the trail.

Passport and Visa

If you are traveling to Nepal you need to have a visa to enter Nepal. However, the arrival visa is available at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu’s where you can simply get On Arrival Visa” and you must enter Nepal within six months from the visa issued date. Your total stay is counted starting from the day you enter into Nepal.

You will be charged $40 USD as visa application fees for 30 days tourist visa to the forefingers except for Chinese and India. For those tourists who have Indian and Chinese passports then you do not need a visa (Free Visa)!

Extra personal expenses on trekking

During the trek, all your foods are included in the package (Lunch, Breakfast, and Dinner with hot drinks), the foods will be served as per package program and besides that, any personal and Barbier bills would be extra.

Travel Insurance

Travel is mandatory for trekkers in participating in this trekking tour program or any other adventurous trek in Nepal Himalayas. Getting travel insurance, especially while traveling in the mountain areas is like security on which you can rely on and enjoy your trip without any worries. We highly recommend getting good compressive travel insurance that covers things like emergency helicopter rescue, medical evacuations expense it will be assisted protection tour to cover personal injury, injury, repatriation expenses, and any kind of illness will be covered. Having good travel insurance will not only guarantee you peace of mind while you travel with us but also provide you with complete coverage for anything things that may go wrong.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
