Itinerary
Early bird gets the worm, thus, we will begin our adventure by taking an early flight to Leh, the capital city of Ladakh. The flight will fly us over the Great Himalayas, like an onlooker, we will see the first glimpse of what we all are just about to experience. The flight will land on one of the highest airports in the entire world. Our representatives in Leh will pick you up and drop at our hotels. Everybody must rest before our adventure begins.a
After adjusting to the blissful climate, the adventurers will be taken for a sightseeing tour of Ladakh. We shall first visit Shey and Thiksey Monastery. Shey Gompa (or monastery) is one of the most magnificent palaces and monasteries in Ladakh, it was built as a summer retreat for the Kings of Ladakh.
Thiksey Monastery is famous because of its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. These monasteries are home to many monks. These monasteries have a lot to offer about the culture in Ladakh through Buddhist books, journals, scripts, statues, swords, and Thangka paintings. After some rest in the afternoon, we will visit the wonderful market of Ladakh and try out different cuisines. This small but beautiful town has to offer.
After an early start, we shall make a drive for almost 7 hours to reach Peldo and then to the great Tso-Moriri lake. It is amongst one of the largest lakes in Ladakh at the height of 14,800 feet. It is also a prime location to see rare fauna. On the eastern shore of the lake, lies our majestic Chamsher Kangri. We camp near the lake for the night.
We trek for 4 to 5 hours to reach the heavenly Skyurchu. We lay our camps and spend the night there.
After a six-hours long hike, we reach our Lungser Base Camp at a height of 16,100 feet. We camp overnight.
Lungser Kangri is not a technical peak but the altitude is very high and many people fall sick due to AMS, thus, a leisure day to acclimatize to the weather and height. Drinking a lot of liquids is necessary. We camp for the night there itself.
After trekking for 4-5 hours, we reach our Advance Base Camp from where we shall begin our summit attempt. Camping overnight.
We begin our trek past midnight. The way to the summit is really long. The adventurers will face various chilling and enthralling obstacles along the course. One thing is definitely certain for the adventurers, challenges. For one thing, the adventurers are going to enjoy climbing Lungser Kangri. The feeling of triumph, when reached the top, will be unmatchable. On our way back, if we are too tired we may just rest at the Advance Base Camp or else we will retreat back to the Base Camp. We camp overnight accordingly.
We trek for about 4 hours to reach from our Lungser Kangri camp to Skyurchu where we will spend the night.
We drive back from Skyurchu to Leh passing Tsokar, another beautiful lake and over the Taglang La Pass(17,400 feet) to reach Leh, which would take eight hours. We pack up and get ready for an early morning departure the next day. We spend the night in our hotel in Leh.
